What We're Looking For

Marker is seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to accurately and timely process invoices, maintain supporting documentation, reconcile related financial information, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-service oriented, and able to communicate effectively with associates at all levels of the organization. They will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to improving processes and supporting the overall success of the accounting function.

Core Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Receive and upload invoices into the accounts payable system.
  • Match invoices to delivery tickets and purchase orders.
  • Code invoices according to purchase orders and route them through the approval process.
  • Work with project staff to resolve incorrect, contradictory, or missing information to ensure invoices are processed promptly.
  • Monitor invoices throughout the approval workflow.
  • Perform compliance checks to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate prior to payment.
  • Select invoices for payment based on established criteria and payment schedules.
  • Maintain organized and accurate electronic and/or physical filing systems.
  • Partner with Accounting team members to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency.
  • Assist with external accounting audits and provide required documentation and support.
  • Support regulatory audits, including IRS, Workers’ Compensation, state, and local municipality audits.
  • Assist with year-end accounts payable reporting and filings, including 1099 preparation.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Experience in accounts payable, costing, or basic accounting is preferred.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with software, hardware, and peripherals related to job responsibilities, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees at all levels within the company.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
