What we’re looking for:

Marker is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to lead the coordination, management, and production of high-quality proposals, qualifications packages, and business development materials that position Marker to win work. This role blends persuasive writing, design sense, and meticulous organization to deliver compelling, compliant, and visually engaging submissions.

The Proposal Manager will report to the Director of Marketing and will be based out of our Columbus, Ohio office. For the right highly engaged professional, remote work may be considered.

We’re looking for a professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal process from kickoff through delivery, ensuring compliance, quality, and timeliness.
  • Translate complex technical information into persuasive, client-focused narratives.
  • Partner with business development and project leaders to refine pursuit strategies and highlight differentiators.
  • Maintain and grow a content library of project profiles, resumes, and supporting materials.
  • Manage the CRM system and track proposals, wins/losses, and consultant involvement.
  • Support business development efforts with presentations, leave-behinds, and marketing collateral.
  • Gather client testimonials, references, and feedback to strengthen future submissions.
  • Track and report on proposal success rates and key pursuit metrics.
  • Assist with award submissions, press releases, newsletters, and other written communications.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proposal writing, technical writing, or marketing experience within construction, architecture, engineering, or professional services.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with proven deadline management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables
